let this image fall

I feel the sun massaging my skin,
It�s warm, just like it�s always been.
This light is clear,
Like the pictures we hold onto,
locked in our minds.
The street hums behind me,
As it wears on tirelessly.
The grass would dance in this cool breeze
[if only it weren�t so far from the sun]

short of breath, just short of passing out
and letting this moment come undone

You say my day is coming,
�it will rain soon, it will rain soon�
And how much I do want it,
How much I do need it.
But I know, I know I cant take it all
So save your tears and let this image fall.

It is going to rain soon,
But this game will never end.
This game of chasing the ball.
Everyone is in pursuit.
But, [on the same field],
They don�t want it at all.

It is going to rain soon.
The air can hardly sit still.
The soil begs for your offering,
Waiting for the fall.
The ground is dry.
But, [on the same field],
It wont retain any at all.

You say my day is coming,

And how much I do want it,
How much I do need it.
But I know, I know I cant take it all.
